You might be surprised, the history of baseball dates back to the 18th century. The first ball clubs were then formed in the mid-1830s. As you can imagine, Little League and youth baseball came along later in 1939, but baseball has been around for almost two centuries.

Divisions of Little League Baseball
Little League is broken up in to 7 Divisions:
- Tee Ball
- Challenger (Ages 4-18)
- Minor League (Ages 7-12)
- Little League or Major League (Ages 8-12)
- Intermediate (50/70) Baseball (Ages 11-13)
- Junior League (Ages 12-14)
- Senior League (Ages 13-16)

The rules of Little League baseball vary slightly depending on age and league. You will want to review your specific youth baseball rules which should be provided on their website or by your coach. However, the standard rules can be found here.
