There is so much to learn and choose from when it comes to baseball training. This list of baseball training equipment, training programs, and training books is extensive and overwhelming. We have whittled it down and captured our favorites here to take some of the guess work out of it for you.
There are so many baseball training aides available that take your training to a whole new level and allow your player to get more work in at home. Some of the more fundamental aides would be baseballs, a baseball tee (i.e. Tanner Tee), and a hitting / throwing net. As my son progressed into high school, we incorporated arm bands, the pocket radar, a pitcher's mound, heavy balls, and various hitting aides like Camwood and the over/under loaded bats. It can be overwhelming with the many online gurus and gizmos. My recommendation has always been to keep it simple. While some of the fancy, out of this world, items might work, thousands upon thousands have made it to college and beyond without. If it sounds too good to be true, it often is. There is rarely a quick fix. Being an engineer, I often look for scientific backing and long-term proof before buying in to every potential gimmick. Velo, whether hitting or pitching, takes hard work and consistency. It requires commitment and intent. Out top recommended training aides are below.

Training programs are a dime a dozen. It seems new ones are popping up every day. What we learned is that many youth athletic training programs and exercise routines are focused on linear movement and exercises. While those do help build strength and agility, they are not always the best for baseball players due to the rotational movements needed to excel in baseball. I have done extensive research here and created a list of proven and reputable baseball training programs and experts that we highly recommend. They include Tread Athletics, Texas Baseball Ranch, Summers Method, Top Velocity, BRX, and Mustard. Some of these programs are actually app based. Some can be done virtually / remotely. They cover a range of price points from free to thousands of dollars. I can say that the best investment I made in regard to pitching was the Texas Baseball Ranch. Jill and Ron Wolforth have an incredible thing going at the Ranch. While it is not cheap and not close for many outside of Texas, it is an incredible experience. They have been helping pitchers at all levels for decades. Your player will leave with a pitching program designed for his unique needs based on assessments they perform at the Ranch. As with anything in life, the best and most expensive program in the world will not help your player improve if he does not commit to it and perform it properly and consistently.
